Thomas pensait avoir oublié les drames de son enfance: la mort de sa mère alors qu'il n'avait pas encore 5 ans, le chagrin immense de son père, les rumeurs sur les causes du décès dont bruissait sa ville natale sans qu'il ne parvienne jamais à discerner la vérité...
Mais le jour où sa vie professionnelle vole en éclats, des bribes de souvenirs lui reviennent. Le choc est dévastateur et le cloue à sa chaise en pleine classe, face à ses élèves.
Aussi épuisé qu'effrayé par son état, il demande à son père de le ramener en Bretagne, à Concarneau, le temps de sa convalescence.
Deux décennies qu'il n'avait pas remis les pieds là-bas.
Tandis que Thomas renoue avec ses origines, il comprend que sa crise ne s'est pas produite par hasard...Et si le moment était venu de partir en quête de son histoire?
